The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) role is vital to keeping children safe. This Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) Training for Schools and Colleges course has been written to ensure those new to that role, or those who are to perform the Deputy DSL role, have the knowledge and skills necessary to take on these responsibilities with confidence. We can run this course as a Full. or Refresher course
The course covers the key aspects of legislation and national guidance that define the responsibilities of the Designated Safeguarding Lead, including Working Together to Safeguard Children (July 2018), Keeping Children Safe in Education (September 2021) and Ofsted’s Inspecting Safeguarding in Early Years, Education and Skills Settings (September 2019).
The one day course is delivered within four modules. The content of each module is as follows.
Module 1 – Legislation
Module 2- Recognising Abuse
Module 3- Safeguarding Processes and Procedures
Module 4 – The role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead
This course is ideal for those who are new to the Designated Safeguarding Lead role, or deputy, and those who support Designated Safeguarding Leads, such as headteachers and principals. Governors with responsibility for safeguarding within their setting would also benefit from the greater knowledge this course provides.
Maximum of 16 delegates per course. When this course runs through the whole day it is not catered for, look out for details of catering or dietary requirements in your confirmation so you’re not left hungry!
We are currently delivering our courses Face to Face or via Zoom Live. We use many different methods to make sure courses are as interactive as possible and expect delegates to have cameras on and sound on when required. We also request that you take part in the feedback on our courses so that we can improve our services every time. We provide individual certificates for all of our courses.
Once you have booked this course then we will be in touch to organise a suitable date to deliver. To discuss this further then please either call us on 0845 139 2070 or Contact Us and we will get back to you.
